Why a Bourget pocket door frame?
Cope & Stick Joints
The rails (horizontal parts) are joined with the stiles (vertical parts) using cope and stick joints and dowels, creating an extremely strong and precise joint.
Why you care: Strong joints create extremely rigid frame walls, which makes the frame much easier to install. Also, because the frame structure is 100% solid wood, you can easily and securely nail/screw things into the frame through drywall.
Pre-installed Floor Guide
We pre-install a Hafele floor guide, secured to a 1/4" thick metal plate. The door is never off the guide, whether open or closed, so it never "jumps" out of alignment. And the guide is concealed, held 1/16" behind the door stop, so you can't see it when the door is closed.
Why you care: You won't have to install/tweak the floor guide. And you'll never see it. It performs its function invisibly, just like the rest of our frame.
Premium Track & Rollers
A frame is only as good as its hardware, which is why we use the best. Our frame comes with Hafele Slido track and rollers. Italian-made, preinstalled, and ready to roll.
Why you care: High-quality hardware means the pocket door will open and close smoothly, quietly, and effortlessly.
Engineered Stiles
Our frame has 4 engineered vertical members, or stiles. By "engineered," we mean that we've bonded multiple planks of solid Alder together to make a single component. This ensures that our stiles are immune to the twisting, expansion and contraction typical of solid wood.
Why you care: Margins are everything with a pocket door. When closed, the edge of the door should be perfectly aligned with the inside edge of the jamb, and this is only possible if the stiles are true. If you thought that a pocket door could never have perfect margins, think again.
We've been crafting beautiful doors for 3 decades, in all species and styles.
